My Favorite Hymn

A lot of people don't seem to know this hymn, but has been my favorite for some time now. I hope the words bless you.

Be Still, My Soul

Be still, my soul: the Lord is on your side.
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
leave to your God to order and provide;
in every change God faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: your best, your heavenly friend
through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul: your God will undertake
to guide the future, as in ages past.
Your hope, your confidence let nothing shake;
all now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know
the Christ who ruled them while he dwelt below.

Be still, my soul: the hour is hastening on
when we shall be forever with the Lord,
when disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
sorrow for forgot, love's purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past,
all safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

A short break...

Well, I may not be blogging much for the next while. Most people aren't blogging much anymore, anyway! Which is fine, you are all caught up in the deceptive whirlwind of Facebook. It seems innocent, I know. But it's actually a cult, designed to slowly but surely overtake the whole human population! Truth be told, you may find me there soon enough as well. "If you can't beat them, join 'em" right? :)

Anyway, I am so enjoying living life and moving forward down the path God has laid for my life. God continues to strengthen me in Himself and remind me of the truth reflected in today's "Verse of the Day":

It is the LORD your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him. (Deuteronomy 13:4)

When people you care about speak certain things over your life, things contrary to the Word of the Lord, it can sometimes be difficult to hear truth and walk boldly and confidently in that truth, despite the things others have said or are saying... Vague, I know. But, every now and then, I come to a place where I need to separate for a little while from my previous circles in order to hear God's voice and His voice alone.

All is well, I am just being built up in the most holy faith. The Lord God is my Lord and my Savior and He has declared me clean according to His Word and to His blood. When the God of all creation, who spoke light into existence, speaks His Word over me, I better listen and obey! Nothing else can stand in light of His Word, it is exalted even higher than His most holy Name! So I am walking in His anointing, drinking in His Word, and renewing my mind according to what He says, and not what others have said or are saying.

So blessings, my friends! I'll be back when I'm back!
